This East Asian variety is usually considered a sweet pepper, but it’s included here because about 10% of its fruits are spicy hot. Compact plants are ideal for containers and produce huge yields of slender, glossy, light green fruits. Can’t be beat when tossed with a tiny bit of olive oil and cooked over a grill.

Love these!

My husband and I love the taste of these peppers and have had great success with them in the garden! I do use a heat mat to help with germination.

Dominates my pepper production

How I grow, view, process and eat these peppers is similar to what I do with my pepperoncinis. Pepperoncinis used to be my go to until this year. My last two seasons I grew these shishitos next to my old favorite and Shishito has taken over. I am dropping my old favorite. the shishito produces more in extreme weather and it has a more consistent quality and if I leave them to turn red, they last on the plant longer than the Pepperoncini. 2023, I am only planting these
