There are two grades of millet: a “food grade” with poor germination and many impurities sold inexpensively at mass merchants and feed stores for use in feeding birds, and a “seed quality” sold by Seeds ‘n Such germinating at 80% or more with 99% purity. Our strain can be grown anywhere in the country and is adapted to most soil types. Short growing, usually reaching a maximum height of 3 ft.. Sensitive to frost, so best sown in May or early June. Very attractive to wildlife, particularly many species of birds like doves and quail. Sow 6 oz. per 500 sq. ft.
