Thai Hot Pepper
Growing Thai Hot Pepper
‘Thai’ is an open-pollinated pepper prized for its compact growth and extra-hot fruits. Peppers mature from deep green to red above attractive foliage, creating a crop that is both culinary and ornamental.
Start ‘Thai’ indoors for transplanting. Plant seeds about ¼ inch deep, space plants 24 to 36 inches apart, and grow in full sun. Its compact habit makes this variety well suited to smaller gardens, and plants offer excellent drought tolerance.
Ready to harvest in about 40 days, pick peppers green or allow them to mature fully red.
Extra hot and flavorful, ‘Thai’ is excellent for sauces, drying, chili, and Asian-inspired cooking.
