Reliance Seedless Grape Plants
Growing Reliance Seedless Grape Plants
‘Reliance’ is a cold-hardy red seedless grape variety prized for its sweet, mild flavor, tender texture, and dependable production. Developed by the University of Arkansas, it produces heavy clusters of medium-sized, rosy-pink fruit and ripens early in the season.
Plant ‘Reliance’ in full sun, spacing vines about 6 to 8 feet apart with 8 to 10 feet between rows. Choose well-drained soil and provide a sturdy trellis, arbor, or fence for support. Water regularly while vines are establishing, fertilize lightly in early spring, and prune annually in late winter to encourage strong new canes and productive fruiting wood.
Best suited to USDA Zones 5–8, ‘Reliance’ is vigorous, productive, and more cold-tolerant than many seedless grape varieties. It is self-pollinating, so only one plant is needed for fruit production. Remove any fruit during the first year to allow the plant to focus on establishing a strong root system.
Sweet, tender, and seedless, ‘Reliance’ grapes are excellent for fresh eating, snacks, juice, and other everyday uses. Its early ripening, cold hardiness, and reliable yields make it a strong choice for gardeners in northern and central growing regions.
