The original re-fried bean in Mexican cooking, in tacos and in chili. Most pods, 4 to 6-in. long, are borne near the top of short, half-runner type plants. Light buff-colored beans, 5 to 6 per pod, are speckled with reddish-brown mottling. Dries to shell stage in about 85 days. Can also be grown as a pole bean.
