Best storage onion

I have been growing these for a number of years in Rhode Island. Good sized onions - mine range from tennis ball to softball size, but I have learned onion size is more determined by how you grow them than the variety. Start indoors in mid-January, fertilize a lot until you put them out in mid-late March. I usually harvest around the 4th of July or so. Need to dry/cure them carefully, but they store a long time! Usually store for me 7-8 months. It is now early January, and I am ordering my seeds for this year, and I still have plenty in my garage. I anticipate them lasting several more months. Best storage yellow onion that I am aware of.

Great Keeper!

I have been growing this onion for a number of years, and Copra before. I always have very good germination and an amazing crop in late summer. These are not huge onions (golf ball to tennis ball size) but WOW! Do they ever keep! Though some do start sprouting in late spring (I chop those up and freeze), I still have a few nice firm, unsprouted onions every year when it’s time to pull and dry the new crop. Great onion.
