Parisian (Paris Market) Heirloom Carrot
Growing Parisian (Paris Market) Heirloom Carrot
‘Parisian,’ also known as ‘Paris Market,’ is a charming French heirloom carrot prized for its unique round shape, bright orange color, and mild, pleasant flavor. The small roots grow to about the size of a ping-pong ball, making them a fun and distinctive addition to the garden. Their compact shape also allows them to perform especially well in rocky soils, heavy clay, and other areas where longer carrots may struggle.
Plant seeds about ¼ inch deep and space plants 2 to 3 inches apart. Germination typically takes 14 to 21 days. This cold-tolerant variety is also an excellent choice for containers and smaller garden spaces.
Ready to harvest in about 57 days, begin checking the roots as they approach maturity and pull them once they reach your preferred size while they are still crisp and tender.
Mild, crisp, and versatile, ‘Parisian’ is excellent for fresh eating, canning, and storage.
