2014 AAS Winner. This award-winning tomato has high resistance to tomato spotted wilt virus, late blight and intermediate resistance to early blight! But despite the best disease package of all tomatoes, it nevertheless received its AAS winner because it’s “such a nice all-around tomato, perfect for slicing and sandwiches.” Deep red and firm fruits are flavorful, slightly oblate, smooth, uniform and crack-resistant. Needs support.

Incredible Disease Resistance

I’m limited in my area of Georgia in what tomatoes I can grow due to the many diseases that thrive in our humidity. This was my first year growing Mountain Merritt and I was amazed at how healthy they were. I think I sprayed a fungicide at the beginning of the season but didn’t need to do it anymore! Large plants grew over 6 ft and produced pounds of huge tomatoes. I highly recommend them if you’ve had problems growing tomatoes in your area.

Disease resistant varieties

I order disease resistant varieties for next year. I’ve struggled with early/late blight for 30-40 years here in zone 7 in KY. I’ll give my review after I’ve tested your varieties I’ve ordered.

Vigorous plant

This plant is an absolute powerhouse of growth, nothing seems to slow it down, medium sized fruit with average flavor, but easy to grow

Have grown this for 3 years

Merit is one of our "go-to" varieties. Nicely sized tomatoes with a good flavor.
