Growing Information

Growing Mariachi Hybrid Hot Pepper

‘Mariachi’ is an award-winning hybrid pepper and 2006 All-America Selections Winner prized for its fruity flavor, low to medium heat, and wide adaptability. Large, fleshy fruits mature to red but are commonly harvested at the yellow stage for a colorful, flavorful crop.

Start ‘Mariachi’ indoors for transplanting. Plant seeds about ¼ inch deep, space plants 24 to 36 inches apart, and grow in full sun. This heat-tolerant variety performs reliably across a range of growing conditions.

Ready to harvest in about 66 days, pick peppers yellow for the traditional harvest or allow them to mature red.

Fruity, mildly spicy, and versatile, ‘Mariachi’ is excellent for salsa, sauces, pickling, stuffing, and grilling.
