Lisboa Hybrid Burpless Cucumber
Growing Lisboa Hybrid Burpless Cucumber
‘Lisboa’ is an extra-early hybrid cucumber prized for its versatility, high productivity, and crisp, refreshing flavor. Dark green, blocky fruits are burpless, bitter-free, and virtually seedless, while the parthenocarpic plants set fruit without pollination. Strong, robust growth makes ‘Lisboa’ especially well suited to greenhouse and hydroponic production as well as traditional gardens.
Start ‘Lisboa’ indoors for transplanting or sow directly in the garden about ½ inch deep. Space plants about 12 inches apart and grow in full sun. This heat-tolerant variety performs well in warm growing conditions and benefits from regular harvesting to keep the plants productive.
Ready to harvest in about 49 days, begin picking the fruits once they reach a usable size while they are still firm, crisp, and tender. Harvest regularly to encourage continued production and maintain the best texture and flavor.
Mild, crisp, and refreshing, ‘Lisboa’ is excellent for fresh slicing, salads, sandwiches, and snacking.
