Halo Mix Hollyhock
Growing Halo Mix Hollyhock
‘Halo Mix’ is an open-pollinated hollyhock blend prized for its towering flower spikes, dramatic bicolor blooms, and classic cottage-garden appeal. Huge single flowers appear in shades of pink, purple, blue, near black, yellow, violet, white, and red, each accented by either a deep purplish-black eye or a contrasting golden-green halo.
Plant ‘Halo Mix’ seeds about ¼ inch deep and space plants 18 to 24 inches apart. Grow in full sun. Germination typically takes 10 to 14 days. This hardy perennial can be sown as late as August, allowing seedlings to overwinter before producing their impressive display the following season.
Reaching full maturity in about 730 days, enjoy the flowers as the tall spikes open and reach their best display stage. Their impressive height and richly colored blooms create a dramatic vertical accent throughout the garden.
Tall, colorful, and classic, ‘Halo Mix’ is an excellent choice for cottage gardens, back-of-border plantings, fences, walls, and ornamental beds.
