Growing Information

Growing Golden Sweet Snow Heirloom Pea

‘Golden Sweet Snow’ is a rare heirloom pea prized for its colorful flowers, buttery yellow pods, and exceptionally sweet peas. Purple-mauve blooms give way to crisp, flat yellow pods filled with tender bright green peas, creating a crop that is as ornamental as it is flavorful.

Plant ‘Golden Sweet Snow’ seeds about ½ to 1 inch deep and space plants 1½ to 2 inches apart. Grow in full sun. Germination typically takes 7 to 14 days. This cold-tolerant variety performs especially well in cool growing conditions.

Ready to harvest in about 65 days, pick the flat pods young for snow peas or allow selected pods to remain on the vine and mature for shell peas.

Sweet, tender, and colorful, ‘Golden Sweet Snow’ is excellent for fresh eating, salads, steaming, stir-fries, canning, and everyday cooking.
