Growing Earliglow Spring-Bearing Strawberry Plants

‘Earliglow’ is an early-ripening spring-bearing strawberry variety prized for its exceptionally sweet flavor, firm texture, and classic old-fashioned strawberry taste. Bright red, medium-sized berries are among the first to ripen each season, making this a favorite for gardeners eager for an early harvest.

Plant ‘Earliglow’ strawberries in full sun, spacing plants 12 to 18 inches apart in rows 3 to 4 feet apart. Set each plant so the crown sits at soil level, taking care not to bury it. Choose rich, well-drained soil with a pH of about 5.8 to 6.5, keep the soil evenly moist—especially during flowering and fruiting—and apply mulch to help retain moisture and suppress weeds.

As a spring-bearing variety, ‘Earliglow’ produces one large crop in early summer. Vigorous, cold-hardy, disease-resistant plants perform well in home gardens and raised beds and are best suited to USDA Zones 4–9.

Sweet, firm, and flavorful, ‘Earliglow’ strawberries are excellent for fresh eating, canning, freezing, preserves, desserts, and other everyday uses. Its early ripening and dependable performance make it a strong choice for gardeners who want a reliable start to strawberry season.
