Dolce Fresca Basil
Growing Dolce Fresca Basil
‘Dolce Fresca’ is an award-winning open-pollinated basil and 2015 All-America Selections Winner prized for its sweet, tender leaves, attractive compact form, and excellent drought tolerance. Plants recover quickly after harvest while maintaining the tidy ornamental shape that makes this variety especially attractive in containers and borders.
Start ‘Dolce Fresca’ indoors for transplanting or sow directly where conditions allow. Plant seeds about ¼ inch deep and space plants about 12 inches apart. Grow in full sun. This variety is particularly well suited to containers.
Ready to begin harvesting in about 70 days, cut leaves or stems as needed and allow plants to regrow between harvests.
Sweet, tender, and attractive, ‘Dolce Fresca’ is excellent for fresh cooking, drying, containers, and ornamental herb gardens.
