Chocolate Cherry Tomato
Growing Chocolate Cherry Tomato
‘Chocolate Cherry’ is an open-pollinated cherry tomato prized for its deep wine-red color and complex flavor. Round fruits form in trusses of about eight, resist cracking, and can be picked early and allowed to finish ripening indoors without sacrificing quality.
Start ‘Chocolate Cherry’ indoors for transplanting. Plant seeds about ¼ inch deep, space plants 24 to 36 inches apart, and grow in full sun. Heat-tolerant indeterminate plants perform well for both home gardeners and market growers.
Ready to harvest in about 70 days, pick fruits once they develop their mature deep wine-red color.
Complex, sweet, and bite sized, ‘Chocolate Cherry’ is excellent for fresh eating and snacking.
