Growing Spineless Supreme Hybrid Zucchini

‘Spineless Supreme’ is a hybrid zucchini prized for its spineless growth, generous yields, and strong disease resistance. Open, upright plants produce glossy vivid-green fruits with light flecking, making harvesting comfortable and efficient.

Sow ‘Spineless Supreme’ directly in the garden about 1 inch deep and space plants about 24 inches apart. Grow in full sun. This heat-tolerant variety is noted for disease resistance, and successive plantings can extend production throughout the warm season.

Ready to harvest in about 44 days, pick fruits frequently while they remain young and tender to encourage continued yields.

Tender, productive, and easy to harvest, ‘Spineless Supreme’ is excellent for fresh eating, sautéing, grilling, and everyday cooking.

Good But Slow-Growing Squash

About 70% of the seeds germinated and produced good-tasting zucchini-bearing plants. Picking the squash was nice since the vines are spineless. But the sqush were slow-growing compared to other types (like Commander) and did not produce as many squash. The plants also were more susceptible to the squash borer.
