Growing Information

Growing Candy Cane Red Hybrid Pepper

‘Candy Cane Red’ is a hybrid snack pepper prized for its boldly striped fruits, variegated foliage, and compact growth. Elongated bell-shaped peppers begin green with white striping and gradually mature to a solid, brilliant red.

Start ‘Candy Cane Red’ indoors for transplanting. Plant seeds about ¼ to ½ inch deep and space plants 18 to 24 inches apart. Grow in full sun. Compact plants are especially well suited to containers, patios, and smaller gardens.

Ready to harvest in about 50 days, pick peppers at any stage of maturity for a range of color and flavor.

Colorful, sweet, and compact, ‘Candy Cane Red’ is excellent for fresh eating, snacking, salads, everyday cooking, and edible container displays.
