Growing Bellatrix Hybrid Roma Paste Tomato

‘Bellatrix’ is a productive hybrid Roma-type tomato prized for its meaty fruits, dependable yields, and strong disease resistance. Compact plants produce generous harvests of paste-style tomatoes well suited for gardeners looking for reliable fruit for preserving and cooking.

Start ‘Bellatrix’ indoors for transplanting. Plant seeds about ½ inch deep, space plants 18 to 36 inches apart, and grow in full sun. Plants reach about 3 feet tall and are well suited to containers and smaller garden spaces.

Ready to harvest in about 68 days, pick fruits once they have reached their mature size and full color. Regular harvesting helps keep plants productive throughout the season.

Meaty and versatile, ‘Bellatrix’ is especially well suited for canning, sauces, salsa, and other cooked tomato dishes.

Best blight resistant tomato

This variety was definitely much more resistant to blight in our garden. It was very obvious as all our other varieties were dying from blight and the Bellatrix plants were still green and healthy.
