Growing Beauregard Sweet Potato Plants

‘Beauregard’ is one of the most productive and widely trusted sweet potato varieties, prized for its heavy yields, uniform roots, and dependable performance. Smooth, deep red-orange skin surrounds moist, meaty, moderately deep-orange flesh with a sweet, rich flavor. Crack-resistant roots develop consistently, making this variety a favorite for both home gardeners and market growers.

Plant ‘Beauregard’ sweet potato slips after all danger of frost has passed and the soil has thoroughly warmed. Choose a location in full sun with loose, well-drained soil, and space plants about 12 to 18 inches apart. Set each slip deeply enough to cover the lower stem and roots while keeping the upper leaves above the soil line. Water thoroughly after planting and keep the soil evenly moist while plants become established.

Ready to harvest in about 90 days, dig roots once they have reached their mature size, typically about 6 to 10 inches long and around 3 inches wide. Harvest carefully to avoid bruising or cutting the skin, then cure freshly dug sweet potatoes before eating or storing for the best flavor and keeping quality.

Sweet, tender, and versatile, ‘Beauregard’ is excellent for baking, roasting, mashing, fries, casseroles, and everyday cooking. Its adaptability, high yields, and consistently attractive roots make it a dependable choice across a wide range of growing conditions.

Shipping Notice: Sweet potato plants ship directly from our supplier on a seasonal schedule. Most orders begin shipping around mid-April, with shipping continuing through June 5th. Because timing can vary, we recommend planning for delivery no earlier than April 15th.

Only 19 plants arrived instead of 25

I ordered 25 but I only received 19 and some of those were too weak to make it. I can understand some plants dying but not being shorted 6 plants from the start.
