Lemon Basil
Growing Lemon Basil
‘Lemon’ Basil is prized for its intense citrus fragrance, sweet tangy flavor, and attractive foliage. Even a light touch releases its bright lemon scent, while long green leaves and white flowers add ornamental appeal to the herb garden.
Start ‘Lemon’ indoors for transplanting or sow directly where conditions allow. Plant seeds about ¼ inch deep and space plants about 12 inches apart. Grow in full sun. This heat-tolerant variety is also well suited to containers.
Ready to begin harvesting in about 60 days, cut fresh leaves or stems regularly once plants are established.
Bright, tangy, and aromatic, ‘Lemon’ is excellent for seafood, salads, marinades, beverages, fresh cooking, and drying.
