Red Ace Hybrid Beet

‘Red Ace’ Hybrid Beet is an early-maturing Detroit-type beet known for vigorous growth, excellent uniformity, and strong disease resistance. Plants produce smooth, solid, deep red roots topped by short, glossy green foliage that is also tender and flavorful.

Sow ‘Red Ace’ directly in the garden during the cooler temperatures of spring or fall. Plant in loose, well-drained soil and keep the seedbed consistently moist while seedlings establish. Thin plants as they grow to give the roots enough room to develop evenly.

Harvest the roots once they reach the desired size while they are still smooth and tender. The compact tops make the plants easy to manage and can also be harvested young for use as beet greens.

‘Red Ace’ beets are well suited for fresh eating, roasting, cooking, slicing, and preserving, while the tender tops can be enjoyed in salads or cooked like other leafy greens.
