Growing Early Prolific Straightneck Summer Squash

‘Early Prolific Straightneck’ is an award-winning summer squash and 1938 All-America Selections Winner prized for its heavy yields and tender lemon-yellow fruits. Slightly club-shaped squash are produced on semi-open plants that make harvesting quick and easy.

Sow ‘Early Prolific Straightneck’ directly in the garden about 1 inch deep and space plants about 24 inches apart. Grow in full sun. This heat-tolerant variety develops vigorous, productive plants.

Ready to harvest in about 48 days, pick fruits regularly when they are approximately 3 to 7 inches long for the best texture and flavor.

Tender, productive, and classic, ‘Early Prolific Straightneck’ is excellent for sautéing, frying, roasting, everyday cooking, and storage.
