White Icicle Heirloom Radish
Growing White Icicle Heirloom Radish
‘White Icicle’ is a century-old heirloom radish prized for its slender pure-white roots, mild flavor, and crisp texture. The roots hold well but offer their best eating quality when harvested young, around the size of a little finger.
Sow ‘White Icicle’ directly in the garden about ½ inch deep and space plants about 1 inch apart. Grow in full sun. This cold-tolerant variety also stands heat well and is suited to containers.
Ready to harvest in about 30 days, pull the roots while they are still young and tender for the mildest flavor and crispest texture.
Mild, refreshing, and crunchy, ‘White Icicle’ is excellent for fresh eating, salads, snacking, and pickling.
One oz. contains 2,500 to 3,000 seeds. 500 seeds sows a 20-ft. row.
