Golden Helios Radish
Growing Golden Helios Radish
‘Golden Helios’ is an heirloom radish prized for its unusual golden skin, crisp white flesh, and mild flavor. Leafy green tops feature purple-streaked ribs, creating an attractive crop above and below the soil. This variety also resists developing excessive spiciness and bitterness in warmer conditions better than many red radishes.
Sow ‘Golden Helios’ directly in the garden about ½ inch deep and space plants 12 to 18 inches apart. Grow in full sun. This cold-tolerant variety performs well across a range of growing conditions.
Ready to harvest in about 25 days, pull roots once they reach the desired size while the flesh remains crisp and tender.
Colorful, mild, and refreshing, ‘Golden Helios’ is excellent for fresh eating, salads, and pesto.
