Champion Radish
Growing Champion Radish
‘Champion’ is an award-winning open-pollinated radish and 1957 All-America Selections Winner prized for its perfectly round roots and dependable garden performance. Bright red skin surrounds crisp, juicy white flesh that remains tender without becoming woody, even when roots grow to golf-ball size.
Sow ‘Champion’ directly in the garden about ½ inch deep and space plants about 1 inch apart. Grow in full sun. This cold-tolerant variety is also well suited to containers.
Ready to harvest in about 28 days, pull roots at the size you prefer while they remain crisp and tender.
Juicy, crisp, and mild, ‘Champion’ is excellent for fresh eating, salads, snacking, and pickling.
One oz. contains 2,500 to 3,000 seeds. 500 seeds sows a 20-ft. row.
