Batwing Mix Pumpkin
Growing Batwing Mix Pumpkin
‘Batwing Mix’ is an open-pollinated mini-pumpkin blend prized for its spooky coloring and distinctive baseball-sized fruits. Pumpkins may appear solid orange, solid deep green, or dramatically divided between the two colors before eventually turning fully orange at maturity.
Sow ‘Batwing Mix’ directly in the garden about 1 to 1½ inches deep and space plants about 96 inches apart. Grow in full sun. This heat-tolerant variety can be planted later in the season when early harvest at the bicolor stage is desired.
Ready to harvest in about 85 days, pick fruits earlier for the strongest green-and-orange contrast or allow them to mature fully orange.
Colorful, compact, and unusual, ‘Batwing Mix’ is excellent for Halloween displays, roadside stands, seasonal decorating, cooking, and storage.
