Growing Information

Growing Enterprise Hybrid Straightneck Squash

‘Enterprise’ is a hybrid straightneck squash prized for its brilliant yellow fruits, mild flavor, and outstanding productivity. Slender squash have creamy flesh and excellent holding ability, while disease-resistant plants continue producing heavily through the summer.

Sow ‘Enterprise’ directly in the garden about 1 inch deep and space plants about 24 inches apart. Grow in full sun. This heat-tolerant variety is especially adaptable and performs particularly well in the Southeast.

Ready to harvest in about 41 days, pick fruits regularly while they are young and tender to encourage continued production.

Mild, productive, and dependable, ‘Enterprise’ is excellent for sautéing, frying, roasting, everyday cooking, and storage.

Very tasty and prolific. Our best that we have tried. The best flavor up to now was black beauty, but this is just as good or better. We plan to grow next year.
