Growing Information

Growing Little Sicily Hybrid Tomato

‘Little Sicily’ is a compact tomato prized for abundant harvests on exceptionally tidy plants. Mounded determinate plants stay under 2 feet tall while producing round, 3- to 4-ounce slicing tomatoes.

Start ‘Little Sicily’ indoors for transplanting. Plant seeds about ⅛ inch deep, space plants 24 to 36 inches apart, and grow in full sun. Its compact growth makes this variety especially well suited to patios, containers, and smaller gardens.

Ready to harvest in about 63 days, pick fruits once they reach full size and mature color.

Compact, productive, and patio friendly, ‘Little Sicily’ is especially well suited to slicing and fresh eating.

Productive, best flavor, short plants.

I have six plants in my window indoors that have been producing two to three ounce fruits since May and show no signs of slowing down the end of November. The BEST flavored of any variety I grow excepting Pruden's Purple or Black Krim which must stay outdoors for size. I grow over a hundred varieties of tomato each year, and Little Sicily gets my vote! Stays compact even in a windowsill environment much like Red Robin or Tiny Tim, but larger fruits.
