Growing Yellow Blossom Sweet Clover
Biennial. Exceptional as a green manure, for soil improvement and pasture, but uniquely preferred by beekeepers for its honey production. Can be grown as an annual and tilled in, or allowed to grow the following year to a height of 6-ft., providing tons of organic matter to the soil. Sets a long taproot which loosens hard, packed soils. Brings insoluble minerals like potassium and phosphorus up to the surface. Fixes as much nitrogen as alfalfa, up to 125 lbs. per acre. Sow anytime from May through July. Inoculate for best performance. About 20,000 seeds in 2-oz. Sow 4-oz. per 500 sq. ft.
