Growing Sugaretti Hybrid Winter Squash

2017 AAS Winner. More compact and earlier, this hybrid spaghetti squash won the an AAS Award for its huge yields and early maturity. Its semi-bush habit make it ideal for smaller gardens. Looking much like a delicata, fruits are green and striped with creamy white. Nutty, sweet flavor is rich and buttery with a pale orange flesh. Great mildew tolerance.

Better than regular spaghetti squash

We like the taste of sugaretti squash better than regular spaghetti squash. Not sure if it takes longer to mature- I've had some that don't turn golden. Also, slow to germinate but worth the wait. We use it instead of pasta for delicious and healthier sugaretti squash and meatballs.

Love these squash

The sugaretti squash is a great bush squash. I have two plants in a six foot raised bed. They did spread to about a three foot wide plant but no vining. Each plant produced 8 squash. Can't wait to try them.

Monster Vines!

OK OK OK .. I planted two and while the description says it's a 2ft bush. This has taken over my entire garden. It's like Jack's Magic Beans! I have squash, but it really needs its own zip code to thrive.. 0.0

It's is a vining plant!

This plant starts like a bush and vines all over everything. I have it going up my tomato arch, and climbing all the way down a 6 ft cattle panel, growing on top of my tomatoes and still growing down the other side. First year growing, if the fruit is tasty and keeps well, I will plant again. I will just plan accordingly.

Not bush variety.

The plant grows like mad. Has proven to be drought resistant in my garden, and the squash vine borer and squash beetles chose my other plants over this variety.
But, it us NOT A BUSH variety. Spreads absolutely everywhere. Which is fine in my garden, but was a surprise.
I am growing again.
