Criminal squash seed have very low germination, 14 out of 103, tried seed trays and direct seeding.

Very Productive

I've grown this for a few years now. This does very well, better that the regular green zucchini that was going at the same time. I've put a tomato cage over the plants. This keeps the leaves up and works well to keep it from flopping all over. The plants are very productive- 2 plants give us plenty when they get going. Good taste also.

Could not love it more

I cannot believe that in mid September, zone 5, (with the craziest weather ever this year) I'm still getting flowers and ripe squash from these plants. I have a small cooking garden designed to feed 2 adults and 2 plants have supplied us (and neighbors!) all summer with delicious yellow squash. It's definitely a keeper.

The best summer squash!

This is my 2nd year to plant this squash, didn't do very well last year with the squash bugs but this year it is just beautiful! I actually have it planted in a raised perennial bed. I staked it but it vined over the low wall and has produced heavily with no problems. The skin is tender and the taste is sweet and nutty. Delicious. I have grilled, sautéed, baked, fried and used it for squash relish. Hope to always have this in my garden.
