Growing Information

Growing Single Rainbow Mix Aster

‘Single Rainbow Mix’ is a colorful aster blend prized for its daisy-like blooms, broad range of colors, and long-lasting late-season display. Flowers appear in radiant shades of purple, pink, violet, deep rose, and white, creating a vibrant show from midsummer into early fall. Plants reach about 12 to 36 inches tall and produce 2- to 3-inch blooms on strong stems.

Plant ‘Single Rainbow Mix’ seeds about ⅛ inch deep and space plants 12 to 18 inches apart. Grow in full sun to partial shade. Germination typically takes 7 to 14 days. This heat-tolerant variety is also well suited to containers.

Ready to bloom in about 120 days, enjoy the flowers as they open and reach their best display stage. Strong stems make the colorful blooms especially useful for cutting while also attracting bees and butterflies to the garden.

Bright, long blooming, and versatile, ‘Single Rainbow Mix’ is an excellent choice for beds, borders, containers, cut flower gardens, bouquets, and pollinator-friendly plantings.

Disappointing Asters

So far I am disappointed with the germination rate of the asters. Only approximately 50% germinated, will see how they perform once they are in the ground later.
