Perhaps the best for adverse weather conditions where disease resistance is critical. Long, straight, tender pods with a butter-like flavor are among the best for canning and freezing. Excellent tolerance to powdery mildew and high resistance to other diseases. Pod set is early and concentrated in lower half of plants for ease of harvest. Purple seeded.

Wrong bean seed in packages

I bought two packages of bush Bean Provider and planted in May. They came up thick and beautiful and I was thrilled.

And then the runners started appearing. The seeds are some type of a half runner variety and my garden is now a mess. I can't even get in the rows to pick them because I didn't provide any support for vines (of course) because they're not the kind of beans they're supposed to be!

I now have no beans for my freezer.

I plant brown seeded beans April 5 when the buzzards return and they give me a good crop. You can’t do that with the white seeded ones.
