We have never had luck with anything bigger than a san marzano or roma in our backyard garden; pests, cracking, disease, we've seen it all and so for years I've only done smaller tomatoes. This year I gave this one a shot, starting from seed, because it had solid reviews... I might be sold on slicers! While we didn't end up with great germination and transplant (only about half made it to the hardening off stage, then we only end up with two plants to actually transplant), the plants that made it are huge, sturdy, and producing SO MANY TOMATOES. We had a few early harvests so I know they're yummy, but most of these are coming up mid-season and they are perfect, no splits or cracks, even with our erratic north texas rain this year. I'm so excited... BLTs for everyone, come on over. I'm going to take the extra step of protecting these beauties with netting to avoid any last minute disappointment, but so far, they are, indeed, a keeper.

We've been planting this variety since they were first developed by the Univ of Florida and purchased via a donation to their ag dept before commercially available--they are truly excellent, great taste, moderately large and abundant producers. mid to late season.

I'm in zone 9b (E. Texas). Received a small quantity a few years ago (free bonus from SnS, known at that time as SV7846TH). Plant thrives under multiple conditions. Resistant to disease. Fruit is medium/large. Juicy without being gushy and has a wonderful flavor. Great slicer for sandwiches/burgers. Keeps well.
We had drought conditions this year. I watered with a drip hose for a couple of hours every two days and when they were a couple of feet tall treated with ground oyster shell. Best crop so far. If I could only grow one variety of tomato this would be it.

Although a little long season for our region, this was a beautiful tomato that was uniform and disease resistant. One of the best!
