Grew this variety for the first time this year, with great results. Started two seeds indoors in late March in little peat cells on a heat mat under grow lights. Both germinated quickly and when seedlings were ready, transferred into 3 inch pots. Transplanted into garden the first week of June with sturdy, 48 inch tall square tomato cage and some organic fertilizer. Removed some lower sets of leaves and planted deep. They really took off once it warmed up and ended up about 5 feet tall. Aphids occurred early on but a spray of neem oil/water/Castile soap mixture took care of them. The plants are producing picture perfect classic red round tomatoes. They are smooth skinned, with no blemishes or cracks, and are baseball to softball sized. Skin is thin, inside is juicy, with a good balance of tart/sweet. Perfect tomato for sandwiches, especially BLTs. Got about 20 tomatoes between the two plants. The only downside was that this was definitely not a 49 day tomato for me. I picked my first tomato 63 days after transplant, in Zone 6. I’ll definitely plant again next year, and more than just two plants this time!
