An Outstanding Variety

Of the tomato varieties I planted this year, Cherokee/Carbon has been the most productive and best tasting. They've outperformed Big Beef Plus and 3 other varieties I planted. This one has risen to the top of my list for next year.

Awesome tomato
My first tomato to ripen

I started these indoors with many other varieties including the infamous early girl plus which to my surprise still has not ripened while a few of these Cherokee carbons have already ripened and are still kicking out tomatoes in 100 temps. They seem pretty similar to the standard Cherokee purple that I’ve grown in the past and show the same traits with some of the odd shapes, same coloring, same texture, and pretty much the same flavor. They are a “pretty” ugly tomato which I mean in a good way because they resemble the heirloom’s that I like but are not picture perfect like many of todays hybrids and have the typical cat facing odd shapes etc. but flavor is outstanding. I should have planted some standard Cherokee purple to compare the growth, resistance etc. but I forgot this year maybe next year. I’ll probably keep these in the garden for years to come.
