A Japanese type imported directly from Kyoto, Japan that proved itself a winner when it was previously offered in the Vermont Bean Seed Company catalog in the 1990’s. Slender fruits are deeply purple, borne early and nearly seedless. Smooth, uniform texture with fine. sweet flavor - never bitter! - is perfect in stir fry or any of your favorite eggplant recipes. Upright, highly productive plants are unusually tolerant of extreme heat. Harvest while skin is still soft and shiny. Widely adapted.

I love it!

This is my first time to grow eggplants in TX and it's going very well. I started seed indoor in Feb, they sprouted 100% (wow!). At the end of March I transplanted them to small pots and leave them outdoor. Then in early May I repotted them to large pot. I had aphid problem at first, but they thrived. Since I use large container, instead of bed, I harvest them early, about 6" in length. So the plants get too tired to producing fruits. I am very satisfied this purchase. I will grow again next year, too.

Early Pick

Picked first Millionaire eggplant 53 days from transplanting. Excellent germination, grew rapidly, tolerate Arkansas heat and humidity exceptionally well, beautiful deep purple fruit. At least a month earlier than other eggplants I've grown. Will grow again next year.
