Growing Information

Growing Chocolate Sprinkles Hybrid Grape Tomato

‘Chocolate Sprinkles’ is a hybrid grape tomato prized for its dark coloring, sweet flavor, and strong disease resistance. Grape-shaped fruits develop faint green striping over a dark brick-red background and grow in attractive trusses of 6 to 8.

Start ‘Chocolate Sprinkles’ indoors for transplanting. Plant seeds about ¼ inch deep, space plants 24 to 36 inches apart, and grow in full sun. This variety is especially noted for its disease-resistance package.

Ready to harvest in about 60 days, pick fruits once they reach full size and develop their mature dark coloring.

Richly sweet, colorful, and bite sized, ‘Chocolate Sprinkles’ is excellent for fresh eating and snacking.

Productive but average in taste

I had a lot of growth after they started to ripen. Flavor is ok. I prefer the Purple Zebra or Rosella tomatoes. It produces larger cherries.

Most seeds didn't sprout.

Only had maybe 4 seeds sprout out of 3 packages. They haven't gone in the ground yet, but I'm already disappointed.

Beautiful gems of the garden!

This variety beat my expectations! They are as beautiful to look at as their delicious flavor is when you pop one in your mouth. Strong plants with ample trusses of 7-10 crack free fruits. Selected as the champion at our local County Fair. It has earned a spot in our garden for years to come. Highly recommend.
