Beauty King Beefsteak Tomato
Growing Beauty King Beefsteak Tomato
‘Beauty King’ is a striking beefsteak tomato selected for exceptional flavor and dramatic color. Brad Gates, owner of Wild Boar Farms, hand-picked his tomato varieties for their exceptional flavor and striking appearance—favoring bi-colors and stripes. All seeds are 100% organic and well-suited for both home and market gardeners, even in extreme climates. ‘Beauty King’ is one of the largest Wild Boar varieties, producing 8- to 16-ounce fruits with red-and-orange striped skin and orange flesh marbled with red. A cross between the heirlooms ‘Big Rainbow’ and ‘Green Zebra,’ it offers a deliciously sweet flavor.
Start ‘Beauty King’ indoors for transplanting. Plant seeds about ¼ inch deep, space plants 24 to 36 inches apart, and grow in full sun. Indeterminate vines reach about 5 to 7 feet tall, so provide sturdy support as plants grow and fruit begins to size up.
Ready to harvest in about 90 days, pick fruits once they have reached full size and developed their characteristic red-and-orange striping and richly colored interior.
Sweet, colorful, and meaty, ‘Beauty King’ is especially well suited for slicing, sandwiches, salads, fresh eating, and showy summer platters.
