Growing Tidal Wave® Silver Hybrid Spreading Petunia

‘Tidal Wave® Silver’ is an award-winning hybrid petunia and 2002 All-America Selections Winner prized for its exceptional versatility, vigorous growth, and impressive spreading habit. Plant spacing can be adjusted to create either a dense, mounded hedge or a wide flowering ground cover.

Plant ‘Tidal Wave® Silver’ seeds about ¼ inch deep and space plants 12 to 18 inches apart. Grow in full sun. Germination typically takes 7 to 14 days. Space plants at least 12 inches apart for a dense mound about 16 to 22 inches tall, or 20 to 24 inches apart for a ground cover that can spread up to 5 feet.

Ready to bloom in about 84 days, enjoy the flowers as they open and reach their best display stage. This heat-tolerant variety develops into an impressive mass of blooms throughout the flowering season.

Vigorous, adaptable, and eye-catching, ‘Tidal Wave® Silver’ is an excellent choice for ornamental beds, flowering hedges, ground covers, containers, and landscape plantings.

Great plant but inconsistent color

This petunia is great, easy to grow, not demanding and a true show stopper. The only problem was inconsistent color: some were almost fluorescent white with small purple center, some less white, sort of smudged with purple. All performed really well and are still blooming despite it being late November (and after some hard freeze down to 24F)
