Trident Hybrid Poblano Pepper
Growing Trident Hybrid Poblano Pepper
‘Trident’ is a hybrid ancho- or poblano-type pepper prized for its large fruits, vigorous growth, and reliable adaptability. Smooth, glossy dark green peppers have the traditional two-lobed shape that tapers gently toward the tip and deliver a medium level of heat.
Start ‘Trident’ indoors for transplanting. Plant seeds about ¼ inch deep, space plants 12 to 18 inches apart with 24 to 36 inches between rows, and grow in full sun. This productive variety performs across a range of climates and is noted for disease resistance.
Ready to harvest in about 85 days, pick peppers once they reach their mature size and desired color.
Meaty, moderately hot, and versatile, ‘Trident’ is excellent for stuffing, chiles rellenos, roasting, frying, sauces, drying, and everyday cooking.
