Growing Beit Alpha Cucumber

‘Beit Alpha’ is a vigorous, prolific cucumber prized for its sweet flavor, crisp texture, and tender skin. Our 2021 Free Seed Giveaway variety, it produces abundant crops of nearly seedless, completely burpless cucumbers with a refreshing crunch and excellent eating quality. Its reliable production and fruit quality make it an especially good choice for greenhouse growing as well as the home garden.

Start ‘Beit Alpha’ indoors for transplanting or sow directly in the garden about ½ inch deep. Space plants 18 to 36 inches apart and grow in full sun. This heat-tolerant variety performs well in warm growing conditions and benefits from regular harvesting to keep the vines productive.

Ready to harvest in about 55 days, begin picking the fruits once they reach a usable size while they are still tender, crisp, and at their best quality. Harvest regularly to encourage continued fruit production.

Sweet, crunchy, and refreshing, ‘Beit Alpha’ is excellent for fresh eating, slicing, salads, and snacking.

Did not germinate as well as early varieties. Probably 20 percent germination rate.

Love this little cuke!

Mild flavor, just the right size, and it grows fast and in abundance. I make sure a few make it into the house, but that's a little hard sometimes.

Seeds had a great germination rate, I started more than I needed not expecting them to all germinate and now am giving the extras away :). Transplanted to the garden last week. Plants are strong and healthy and hopefully, to soon start producing.

Great little cuke!

I have one of these and it just wont stop producing cucumbers. I like to harvest them about 4 inches, but they will grow up to 8 inches and are great.
