Growing Multicolor Rainbow Mix Coleus

‘Multicolor Rainbow Mix’ is an open-pollinated coleus blend prized for its broad range of foliage colors and strong ornamental impact. This classic florist strain produces an eye-catching mixture of reds, yellows, salmons, greens, and blended shades on taller garden-type plants.

Surface sow ‘Multicolor Rainbow Mix’ seeds and space plants 8 to 12 inches apart. Grow in partial shade to shade. Germination typically takes 10 to 14 days. This heat-tolerant variety performs especially well as colorful foliage for shaded garden spaces.

Around 84 days, plants develop their full ornamental impact, filling out with richly colored foliage that provides dependable interest throughout the growing season.

Colorful, bold, and versatile, ‘Multicolor Rainbow Mix’ is an excellent choice for shaded beds, borders, containers, mixed plantings, and ornamental foliage displays.

Not As Pictured

All seeds germinated but all were dark brown coleus. I planted 75 seeds to have a blanket of color. 63 plants are solid dark brown with no interest and no two tone color. Will now buy specific breeds of coleus. Have 3 stars for good germination.

Pretty coleus

Good germination rate and nice mix of colors. Perks up shady areas and does well in pots. Pinches back well for fuller plants. Bees like the flowers in late summer.
