Growing Information

Growing Beefy Red Tomato

‘Beefy Red’ is a striking new addition to the Cream of the Crop™ series, created by the breeders of the popular 'Purple Zebra' tomato and prized for its rich flavor, substantial texture, and striking striped appearance. Large 12- to 14-ounce fruits develop brick-red coloring accented by green and yellow stripes, with meaty, juicy flesh and very few seeds.

Start ‘Beefy Red’ indoors for transplanting. Plant seeds about ¼ inch deep, space plants 24 to 36 inches apart, and grow in full sun. This heat-tolerant variety performs reliably through warm conditions.

Ready to harvest in about 75 days, pick fruits once they reach full size and develop their mature striped coloring.

Rich, meaty, and full flavored, ‘Beefy Red’ is excellent for fresh eating and slicing.
