Honey Rock Melon
Growing Honey Rock Melon
‘Honey Rock’ is an award-winning heirloom melon and 1933 All-America Selections Winner prized for its sweet flavor, firm flesh, and distinctive ribbed fruits. Vigorous vines can produce up to seven compact melons with attractive salmon-orange flesh and excellent eating quality.
Sow ‘Honey Rock’ directly in the garden about ½ inch deep and space plants about 18 inches apart. Grow in full sun. Its manageable fruit size makes this variety especially well suited to smaller gardens.
Ready to harvest in about 80 days, begin checking fruits once they reach full size and develop their mature color, fragrance, and sweetness.
Sweet, firm, and flavorful, ‘Honey Rock’ is excellent for fresh eating, fruit salads, breakfast plates, and summer desserts.
