Godzilla Hybrid Broccoli
Growing Godzilla Hybrid Broccoli
‘Godzilla’ is a vigorous hybrid broccoli prized for its large, heavy heads, tightly packed beads, and strong garden performance. Plants produce substantial crowns with small, compact buds, while lower leaf attachments make trimming faster and harvesting easier.
Start ‘Godzilla’ indoors about ½ inch deep for transplanting. Space plants about 18 inches apart and grow in full sun to partial shade. Plants typically reach about 2 feet tall and perform best in fertile, well-drained soil with consistent moisture, especially during the cooler conditions of spring and fall.
Ready to harvest in about 100 days, cut the 4- to 5-inch main head once it reaches the desired size and the buds are still tight and compact. After harvesting the central head, continue checking the plant for any additional side shoots that may develop.
Tender, hearty, and flavorful, ‘Godzilla’ is excellent for fresh cooking, steaming, roasting, and everyday broccoli dishes.
