Growing Information

Growing Snack Hybrid Cucumber

‘Snack’ is a high-yielding hybrid mini cucumber prized for its crisp texture, sweet flavor, and smooth, glossy fruits. Medium- to dark-green cucumbers are uniform, bitter-free, and best harvested at about 4 inches long, making them a perfect size for snacking and fresh use. Vigorous parthenocarpic plants set fruit without pollination and produce multiple cucumbers per node for heavy, continuous harvests.

Start ‘Snack’ indoors for transplanting or sow directly in the garden about ½ inch deep. Space plants 12 to 18 inches apart and grow in full sun. This variety is well suited to containers and performs well in both greenhouse and open-garden settings.

Ready to harvest in about 60 days, begin picking the fruits at around 4 inches long while they are still firm, crisp, and tender. Harvest regularly to encourage continued production and maintain the best texture and flavor.

Sweet, crunchy, and refreshing, ‘Snack’ is excellent for fresh eating, snacking, lunch boxes, and salads.

Snack Hybrid Cucumber is a hit!

This cucumber just won't quit! It was by far the earliest- I was picking some in June! They have been getting away from me and have grown much bigger than the recommended 4". However, they are still slender and not bitter. My new favorite to grow!

First time for this type

Got them planted and they have started growing in the small pots. Waiting for the weather to warm up outside to transplant them. I am excited to try them fresh from the vine and take extras to the morning coffee club.
