Skytree Hybrid Broccoli
Growing Skytree Hybrid Broccoli
‘Skytree’ is an award-winning hybrid broccoli and 2024 All-America Selections Winner prized for its upright growth, tender stems, and flavorful florets. Compact, high-yielding plants produce uniform deep green heads on sturdy vertical stems that keep the crop clean, visible, and easy to harvest. Strong heat tolerance and continued side-shoot production help extend the harvest beyond the first central head.
Start ‘Skytree’ indoors or sow directly in the garden about ¼ inch deep. Space plants 18 to 24 inches apart and grow in full sun. Plants typically reach 24 to 36 inches tall and perform best in fertile, well-drained soil with consistent moisture.
Ready to harvest in about 60 to 70 days, cut the 4- to 8-inch main head once the florets are tight and well formed. Continue checking the plants for side shoots, which can be harvested as they develop for additional harvests.
Tender, flavorful, and versatile, ‘Skytree’ is excellent for fresh eating, salads, steaming, roasting, stir-fries, and freezing.
