Growing Konan Hybrid Kohlrabi

'Konan' Hybrid Kohlrabi Seeds grow a 2016 AAS Winner that’s ideal for both first-time kohlrabi growers and long-time fans. This award-winning variety is selected for its sweet, smooth, globe-shaped bulbs that size up beautifully and reliably. The uniform, pale-green bulbs are just the right shape and size for containers, raised beds, and garden plots, making Konan a flexible choice for any garden layout. The crisp, tender flesh has a mild, sweet flavor that’s excellent for fresh snacking, slaws, salads, and light cooking.

Start ‘Konan’ indoors for transplanting or sow directly where conditions allow. Plant seeds about ¼ inch deep, space plants 6–8 inches apart, and grow in full sun. It is well suited to containers, well suited to smaller gardens, and heat tolerant.

Maturing in about 45 days, Konan forms tidy plants with upright, uniform leaves that help resist insect damage and keep the bulbs clean and attractive.

‘Konan’ is especially well suited for fresh eating, salads, roasting, stir-fries, market production, everyday cooking, slaw, and snacking.
