Caraflex Hybrid Cabbage
Growing Caraflex Hybrid Cabbage
‘Caraflex’ is an early hybrid cabbage prized for its distinctive pointed heads, crisp texture, and sweet, mild flavor. Compact plants produce tightly wrapped, cone-shaped heads that typically weigh about 1½ to 2 pounds, making this variety a great fit for smaller gardens and everyday kitchen use.
Start ‘Caraflex’ indoors or sow directly in the garden about ¼ inch deep. Space plants 12 to 18 inches apart and grow in full sun. Plants perform best in fertile, well-drained soil with consistent moisture and make efficient use of garden space thanks to their compact growth habit.
Ready to harvest in about 70 to 75 days, cut the heads once they feel firm and have reached the desired size. The uniform heads perform well for both summer and fall harvests and also store well after picking.
Sweet, crisp, and tender, ‘Caraflex’ is excellent for fresh eating, slicing, salads, slaws, and everyday cooking.
